Another Crazy Week!

Bok Bok Svima!

Another week has come and gone in Croatia! Time is super slow but super fast at the same time, It feels like I was just barely here doing this! But that was an entire week ago!! It has been quite a chaotic week, 2 Elders gone home, 3 or 4 mini transfers in the middle of the transfer. Craziness! District conference, lessons, RAIN, and so on!
Monday!
After E-mails, we went down the street a ways and I got my first Croatian haircut! It went pretty well! The nice old guy did it and was just fun to talk to! Not that I understood much XD then we went over to foodness and I was able to buy myself some Dr. Pepper 😀 I looove that stuff so much! After P-day we had a lesson with Dario and he is just so set in his ways! It is really hard to teach when he is just mad that our little plan of salvation cut outs aren’t covered in flames XD ( He likes to talk about Hell XD)
Tuesday:
Always busy and crazy! I made a gratitude Turkey! I will send a picture next week, its kind of creepy XD we had our district meeting and it was great! We had it on gratitude! We then had to hurry to Centar to have ice cream with Kristijan. It is awesome to talk with a member so much and just have that connection! Then we came back and just had to do tons of random tasks with people just showing up left and right! We taught English class and not much else happened….
Wednesday:
The mission is going crazy! One Elder in the hospital with Leukemia, too sick to be able to fly back to america for treatment. tons of missionaries coming in from all over! Sister VanWagoner from Karlovac is now in Ljubljana! Borders between Slovenia and the rest of us are broken! We went and had McDonalds for lunch, it is still the exact same here…then we went Contacting for a bit. Came back and taught a lesson to Igor, a member that is kind of crazy XD that night we had a lesson with the Amelios and it went very well!
Thursday:
We went to plan English first thing incase something crazy happened. Then we went to Kojkan again and I had more Falafel, yum 😀 we then came back to the office to grab stuff for contacting and were stuck doing tasks for 4 hours…..We had english and i was just kind of out of it. We bought a bunch of Bitter Lemon and Orange drink 😀 and these things called Japanese Apples, good 😀
Friday:
Just contacting on the street, allll day! We ate Kebab for lunch which I think is my favorite food out here….yummmm!!!! That is about it though!
Saturday
Contacting all day again….except this time it was freezing and pouring rain. all day long. it kind of really sucked…but yeah!
Sunday
District conference at church. Then we had food afterwords. But the Amelios came to church!!! Hallelujah! It was great! We talked with Kristijan for a while, we went contacting most of the day but didn’t find anyone…
Thats about it for my week! I hope you are all having a fantastic week! I love you all with all of my heart and you all mean the world to me! You are all super super special to me!!! Don’t ever forget that the worth of Souls is great in the sight of God!
You are loved and never alone! No matter how hard the trial! Trust me 😉 but it is great being out here and hearing all the love and support I receive from you all! Thank you! I hope to hear from you all more!
Volim Vas!

Bok Bok Everyone!!

I have to begin this E-mail with some bad news for you guys….there were some Elders in the mission that would get on and chat back and forth with family and friends for about 6 hours every P-day….and he didn’t stop….so now I can’t chat back and forth with you guys anymore 😥 This will be super hard for me because that really kept me going through the week, but I need to obey the mission president! I want all of you to type me up emails every week though, because I will personally go through and respond to each one every single week! I miss you guys a ton and you all mean the world to me!! So PLEASE write me an email to respond too every week!! I hope to hear from all of you because it is one of the happiest things I am able to do every week! I love Email day!!!
Overview of this last week:
Tuesday:
We had our district meeting as normal. We talked about a talk from President Benson titled “beware of Pride” I encourage you all to read it! It is a super good talk! Read it!! Then we went to McDonalds for lunch, and I can tell you there are less options, but it is the exact same as it is back in the states, so it is good to occasionally have American food again XD we came back to the office and did some Comp study because we had to do extra to get caught up on all of the stuff that we hadn’t done yet…..but it gave us a chance to prepare for English as well! We taught English but not really anything exciting happened…just an average english class. We then had a lesson with an Investigator Dario, but I didn’t really understand a word that was said….thats about it!
Wednesday:
I worked on my driving certification so if I ever have to drive I am able to. We then went contacting with no luck….sadness. We ended up at this Kebab place in Gornji Grad, and it was soooooo good!!! I don’t even know how to describe it but it was good!! Afterwords we went to the Cookie Factory, and I got a Coke float….weird but not too bad! Too bad Dr. Pepper isn’t really a thing here….bleh, coke. We had a lesson with Andrej, we taught the Plan of Salvation again but he pretty much just taught it to us, he knew it super well! Thats about it!
Thursday:
Came to the office and typed up some stuff for return and report. Then we headed out to lunch and we got Burek again, Burek s mesom is easily the best one that they have XD apple is good, but meat!!! We went and got Ice Cream with Kristijan and it was a nice time! He is an awesome member that is just fun to talk to and loves the missionaries! We ran to the post office and picked some packages for Sister Deschler. Then we taught english! We had no idea what to do, so we just taught them about America XD it was nice to talk about home and kind of describe Utah to everyone. We ate some fruit called Mušmula, which was some weird rare fruit with HUGE seeds in them.
Friday the 13th🎃:
Return and Report day! We got up bright and early and had to go pick up some elders from the train station. They rode down from Ljubljana. We got in a taxi and rode up to the mission office. When we got there I got to see most of my MTC people including Elder Deleeuw this time! They all had interviews with president as we all just conversed. Then, we actually ate TACOS sister grant found the stuff and made them and it was super delicious! I miss my tacos!!! Then we had our meeting and learned about just the past while and how things are going. Then we all had to get up and share our experience over the past 6 weeks. Then the scary part, we each had to teach a 5 minute lesson, in Croatian, alone……. it was a pretty crazy experience. But I did well! We finished, I had my interview then a lesson with Andrej! good night!
Saturday:
Today was just not my day….We went out to the church to have our meeting with Luka. But then we decided to get a pizza from this place called Chellos. We bought a 70 kuna doomsday pizza….I felt so sick after that thing…..5 meats, 4 cheeses, 3 sauces, 2 peppers, 1 pizza…..Yah!! Then we headed back to the apartment just to find out we need to get back to the office….we came back did a bit of planning then had to hurry to the Amelios house. Once there we tried teaching a lesson but it just wasn’t working, they couldn’t focus….just bleeeh.
Sunday:
We went to church. I had to play piano again and now they want me to play for christmas!!! I don’t even know if I will be here yet!! crazy….We came back to the apartment and had some leftover chili. We contacted for a while with no success really. We went back to the apartment and had a mix of Spaghetti, garlic broccoli, and Paličinke….yum! we finished our planning and just got to go to sleep! Good week!
I love all of you guys! You are all such an inspiration to me! But I really hope to hear from you all!!! If you send me an email now I will respond still! So ask away! Thank you for everything!
Volim Vas!!!

Parker didn’t have a lot of pictures to send this week. They found a safety jacket and Parker thought he looked pretty attractive in it! My funny boy !

A Halloween Baptism!

So this post is up a week late because I wanted to be able to put some pictures with the story. Parker was having some trouble uploading pictures last week! So.. with this weeks email we got a lot of pictures! So here you go!

It was quite the Eventful week here in Zagreb! After I emailed last week we went contacting for a while but didn’t really have much success…It was the most I have talked since I got here though!

Tuesday:
We had regular studies…then we had a lesson with Andrej! We taught the Gospel and it went very well! All was understood and went great! Then we decided to have falafel for lunch and it was like this weird meat thing…but it was super good! We came back and began to have our district meeting when the doorbell of the office rang. We went and answered and it was a Bulgarian that only spoke bulgarian and Spanish….so me and Elder Dyer worked in broken serbian to talk with him for a while. Then we got a member that speaks spanish to help out. But he ended up being here for 4 hours as we tried to figure out what he wanted…He wanted to get a direct train from here to Barcelona!!! which is an insane trip!!! crazy times….
Then we taught english and ended up have a gospel discussion the whole time and explained what we believe! It was really cool and now they all want to know more!
Wednesday:
We taught a lesson to Andrej, he had his interview with Elder Dyer and it went great! He was all ready for everything! We then spent a couple hours cleaning the font in the office…It was so nasty and we had to dig out about 4 Cockroaches XD yummy! We went contacting and then came to institute…thats about it!
Thursday:
We had a lesson with Andrej again! So many lessons! but we taught the last few things of Baptism and he was ready! We practiced a bit and all was well! In the room next to us we had a recent convert go crazy on us….she was freaking out and told Elder Dyer that he was a messenger of the Devil O.o now she wants her name of the records and things are going crazy O.o
We went and made lunch and I actually cooked! I made CTR sandwiches! They were supposed to be Chicken BLT’s but all we had was chicken, tomato, and ranch XD it was a fun time XD in English we taught a lesson on Halloween! they didn’t know what it was…which was super depressing…but I got to spend an hour just talking and explaining Halloween! It made me so happy!!! HALLOWEEN!
Friday:
Crazy busy day…so Chaotic….We went and contacted for a little bit. Then we went back to the apartment and had to make a pie!! It was so weird to make a pie! But we made a cookies and Cream Oreo pie, and since they don’t have like anything here….we had to make it all from scratch! Fun times! then we had to (by Presidents request) walk back and forth two miles one way to a print shop 4 times! I was so exhausted…then we had to hurry into a car to go get our pies and head over to the church which is almost an hour away! But we got there and had a lesson with Andrej. Just the last minute stuff and he was ready! We then had a halloween party! The members wanted us to all feel a little more at home so they made this party. Which wasn’t really anything like halloween or a halloween party….but they were trying! It was a good fun night!
Homemade pie!

Saturday:
Andrejs baptism and halloween!!! We were here at the office at 6 in the morning in order to fill up the font and set up everything. After that it was almost time to start by 9! We got a few pictures with Andrej and got everything worked out with him! It was really cool! We started off in English because only english speakers were there and Andrej speaks english very well. But then more people came and we had to switch into Croatian. Elder Sheesley gave a talk and then I had to….I can’t talk for 5 minutes straight in Croatian!!! But I faked my way through it and I think that he understood everything I was trying to say XD Then we had the baptism! Elder Peterson was doing it and we were witnesses. He almost rammed his head into the side and we had to do it again O.o but all was well! It was great! Then we had the 30 yr commemoration for the dedication of Yugoslavia and it was cool to see it played from the place it actually happened! Then we did a service project and I tasted this thing called bitter Lemonade. Lemonade so bitter that it tastes carbonated XD it was so good!! But we put together service kits and it was great! We went to Karakas for lunch after! It is like an underground pirate themed mexican restaurant O.o super weird but really great! It was so delicious! I had a Chimichanga with Veal XD yum!!! It reminded me of the pirate dinner theater thingie at disneyland XD (or by disneyland i guess) But it was super good! just really expensive O.o like $9!!!
Sunday:
A sunday comes again!!! We had church as normal. Danijel Ašler gave him the Holy Ghost and i got to stand in the Circle and it was so cool! I did have to play piano though…which I am not good at!! But I made my way through it and no one knew the difference XD Then we got put in the primary because there was a visiting family that only spoke english and the teacher can’t speak english O.o so we spent two hours translating for children XD We went to the Hallings for lunch! They are the Senior couple here in Zagreb! It was a good meal of ham and potatoes but they don’t know that I love sauces XD so it was a little dry XD But then we went and taught the Amelio family and they did well! They have been sick for a while but Hopefully we can get them ready for their baptism before the end of the Transfer!
